Normally we supply cabins fitted with electrics with an enclosure that needs to be hardwired by your electrician on site. Sometimes clients prefer to have units connected by a socket – especially when powered by generators.

Most units are capable of being supplied with a 16 amp socket but some users prefer to have the option of a 32 amp socket – compatible with 10mm x 3 core armoured cable.

Please note that you will still need an electrician to connect and check the units on arrival and to be sure that they are correctly earthed due to the fact that units will have travelled by road its possible that electrical connections and items can become disturbed in transit.

  • One of the most common questions regarding shipping containers is "Do I need planning permission?". Planning permission requirements can differ depending on your local authority, so we would always recommend double checking with them first if you're uncertain! However, in our experience, some of our popular optional extras can help in gaining permission such as timber cladding, a sloping roof and even a simple repaint to blend the container into its surroundings.
